Twitter 2.0

I will make this short as a tweet. Too much info. Not enough time.

Librarything 2.0

I think there are many pratical uses for this site at work. For one thing I will remember the name of the site so I can recommend it to patrons!
It is a good site for home-bound readers because they can join an on-line book club. It is helpful because we are always asked if we have a record of what a patron has read. Now they can keep a record of what they have previously signed out.
I like the way you can easily for different genres.

google docs 2.0

I can think of many uses for Google Docs. I will use it to communicate with my husband when he is travelling. It is good to be able to edit continually.
Also being able to put documents right into e-mail is very handy.

youtube 2.0

Flickr has one of the most organized sites that I have been to. I have received photos sent through this site, but this is the first time I explored all it has to offer.
You Tube is fun, informative and a time waster all at once!

RSS 2.0

I had some trouble setting up my feed. I typed in the URL then I clicked on subscribe and I thought it would automatically be there but it wasn't. I went to my e-mail to make sure of the verification. I still see no feeds under my folder. I will rework it.

Google 2.0

I looked at Google Maps especially the directions. This is extremely helpful for staff finding where to go for Outreach projects and also to direct the public to other libraries or places in Calgary that they are looking for. It is great for newcomers.
The prompting with the drop down menu when putting in an address is so helpful. The zoom gives whole new perspective. (I've also looked at Google Earth and found the perspective amazing). Iwould recommend both these sites to customers.

facebook 2.0

For me Facebook is useful. I keep in touch with friends that live in P.E.I. We don't see each other often and we don't write letters, so Facebook is perfect. Also I keep in touch with relatives that I don't see often. The photos albums are great. I used to spend more time on facebook when I first started, but now it is only to check in.

wiki 2.0

It is hard to find an obscure article in Wikipedia.
I edited an article on the community of Country Hills. The information already there was accurate and well- written. The City of Calgary entered the information.

Delicious 2.0

I used to use our Best Websites on Horizon, but I have found that Delicious is not as easy to manouver. The site is vey busy. The Most Popular sites seems an unusual list. Are people really using these sites the most? I would like to see a list of the most used sites to answer reference questions at CPL. I find the tag bundles the most helpful for reference questions, particularly the government and citizenship tags. The depth of information is impressive.

What I hope to learn

I hope to be able to move quickly and smoothly through different networks. At present, I find it cumbersome and I know I am using too many steps.

Victoria

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Victoria. All the bulbs are in full bloom. Very colourful and cheerful. Went on a driving tour and also a cidar tasting tour. It's great to have an early start to spring.
